"I have a choice in deciding who I want to be... It will not be easy, but I can do it,"
Nedra Glover Tawwab
Individual therapy is a beautiful opportunity to devote time to yourself. Whether concerned about long-standing issues or a present challenge, my goal is to provide a safe space for us to reflect on your past that's brought you to where you are today. I believe in empowering you to identify what your hopeful future and goals look like and helping you to get there in a healthy way. I utilize an eclectic approach from Person-Centered, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral, Emotionally Focused, and Psychodynamic therapies. I often work with people through depression, anxiety, family relationships, generational trauma, religious trauma, and grief.
I work with couples through growing communication, deepening trust, exploring intimacy, and fostering understanding of relationship dynamics. We'll reflect on patterns of behavior individually and as a unit to learn new ways of relating to each other. We will work together to expand beyond our past histories towards a more hopeful future.
Family therapy is a bold undertaking in acknowledging challenges while also committing to each other to grow a new way of relating and understanding one another. Acknowledging this, I support each family in finding and using their voice to express their emotions, needs, and hopes in a safe environment. We will work through the development of your attachments to each other and identifying the most healthful communication moving forward. I facilitate family therapy with parents and their children starting at age 10.
